Job Description
Cafe staff, including baristas and attendants, deliver friendly customer service, prepare food and beverages (espresso, tea, pastries), manage cash transactions, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment. They require strong communication, teamwork, speed, and knowledge of health and safety standards, often working flexible hours including weekends. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greeting guests warmly, taking orders, and managing complaints or inquiries.
- Beverage & Food Prep: Expertly preparing coffee drinks (lattes, cappuccinos) and preparing or serving food items (pastries, sandwiches).
- Operations & Cleaning: Operating and cleaning espresso machines, cleaning workstations, sanitizing seating areas, and following health/safety regulations.
- Cashiering: Handling cash, credit card transactions, and operating POS systems.
- Inventory & Stocking: Restocking supplies (cups, napkins, coffee beans) and managing inventory levels.
- Collaboration: Working as a team to ensure fast, efficient service, especially during peak rushes. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]
