Position:Procurement Manager

Job Summary:The Procurement Manager is responsible for planning, sourcing, negotiating, purchasing, and ensuring the timely availability of materials required to fulfill customer orders from oil & gas companies. The role focuses on obtaining the best quality products at competitive prices while maintaining delivery schedules, vendor relationships, and compliance with customer specifications.
- Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement PlanningReview customer purchase orders and procurement requirements.
- Prepare procurement plans based on delivery commitments.
- Prioritize urgent and critical requirements.
- Coordinate with sales, stores, accounts, and logistics teams.
- Vendor ManagementIdentify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
- Maintain a reliable supplier database.
- Develop long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluations.
- Purchase ManagementFloat enquiries (RFQs) to multiple suppliers.
- Compare quotations based on price, quality, delivery, warranty, and payment terms.
- Negotiate the best commercial terms.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs).
- Follow up with suppliers until material delivery.
- Cost ControlNegotiate better pricing and payment terms.
- Reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
- Monitor market price fluctuations.
- Develop alternate sourcing options.
- Material Follow-upTrack order status daily.
- Ensure on-time delivery.
- Resolve supplier delays.
- Expedite urgent materials.
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure procured materials meet customer specifications.
- Verify brand, model, certification, and technical requirements.
- Coordinate replacement of rejected or damaged materials.
- Inventory CoordinationWork closely with the warehouse.
- Maintain optimum stock levels for fast-moving items.
- Avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
- DocumentationMaintain RFQs, quotations, comparative statements, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier records.
- Ensure procurement documents are properly filed and easily retrievable.
- Coordination with Oil & Gas CustomersUnderstand customer-approved brands and specifications.
- Procure only approved makes where required.
- Ensure compliance with customer delivery timelines and documentation requirements.
- ComplianceFollow company procurement policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of pricing and commercial information.
- Ensure ethical procurement practices.
- Daily ResponsibilitiesReview pending purchase requests.
- Contact suppliers for quotations.
- Prepare comparison statements.
- Finalize purchase orders.
- Follow up on pending deliveries.
- Coordinate with logistics.
- Update procurement status reports.
- Resolve supplier issues.
- Support urgent customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain is an advantage.
- Experience5–10 years of procurement experience.
- Experience supplying industrial products to oil & gas, EPC, refinery, petrochemical, offshore, or manufacturing companies is preferred.
- Experience handling multiple suppliers and urgent procurement requirements.
