Job Purpose

Part of the Group Taxation Team involved in tax compliances & advisory for the Vodafone Idea Group. This role involves assuming responsibility of tax compliance including tax assessments, return, LDC, etc. and resolving TDS, Tax queries received from Circles / Shared Service Centre within prescribed time lines

Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Tax Compliance

• Preparation of TAR/Tax returns/ TP /ITR-6, collation of details from SSC, circles and relevant circle team.
• Review of details send by the above team.
• Engaging with SSC and addressing queries raised by Tax auditors, consultant and finalisation of above.
• Other compliance:

1. Computation of DT / CT – Review of details,involving coordinating data from circle/ SSC team, addressing queries raised by Statutory auditors

2. Quarterly review of Contingent liability / Annual CARO reporting and Group reporting requirements

3. SFT/ NON PAN reporting

Tax assessments and Appeals assistance in preparation of assessment submissions and appeal documents to have an IT assessment order with minimal disallowances

• Collating information from circles / SSC and ensuring that the data to be furnished with the authorities does not have any tax exposure and submission of the same to tax authorities in timely manner
• Subsequent to assessment, co-ordination with consultants for preparation, finalisation and filing of appeals.
• Addressing data requirements in connection with litigation (present and past)

To comment on their Arm’s Length Pricing of related party transactions.

• Analysing the related party transactions and commenting on their Arm’s Length Pricing
• To obtain the third party comparable / other documents from the relevant team / Circle to establish Arm Length Pricing.

To prepare Tax MIS & knowledge Tax update

• Analysis & preparation of Tax MIS.
• Analysis of recent judicial precedents, attending Seminar/Webinars on various topics & briefing the Team

Special projects

• Working on special projects of Tax structuring, process improvement, etc.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience

• Strong knowledge of Income Tax laws
• Excellent government liaison and stakeholder management skills
• Strong documentation, drafting, and presentation skills
• Analytical mindset with attention to facts and compliance

Must have technical / professional qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with experience in Direct Tax
• Exposure to large telecom operator or infrastructure company preferred
