Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Assistant Manager - VPM, reporting directly to HOD – VPM to join our VPM team based in Mumbai.

 

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee and manage the responsibilities below. 

 

VPM Coordinator for Onshore & Offshore projects in EPC/PMC/EPCM for Domestic /Group Projects –

Inspection, Expediting and Vendor Performance Evaluations.

 

• To manage and coordinate all activities of VPM for assigned project by providing leadership,

expertise and direction.

• To ensure the level of competencies and capabilities (tools, procedures, organization, and

resources) for execution of project

• To define the execution methodology of Vendor Performance Management for assigned projects.

• Participate in Project Meetings to plan, follow up and deliver supplies

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Performs, coordinates and oversees all VPM activities for assigned projects, supervises VPM

Coordinators /Inspection resources for projects.

Implements Project Execution Plan defined during the Proposal

Performs the contract review and authorizes the relevant VPM project procedures prepared by

VPM Manager/Coordinator

Authorizes the expediting and inspection levels according to the Criticality Analysis provided by

the Project

Manages man-hour costs and planning of resources assigned on the project, Ensures optimum

staff utilization.

Ensures that Inspectors / Inspection Agency follow VPM Project specifications, company

policies and project requirements.

Accountable for the availability of VPM Project deliverables (Pre-Inspection Meeting report, Pre-

Fabrication Meeting Report, Expediting Report, Inspection Report, Inspection Release Note)

Participates to regular VPM / Procurement meetings with Project Team

Supports Project Procurement Managers in Liquidated Damages definition, jointly with Vendor

Performance Coordinators

Supports the implementation of procedures and/or new tools and technologies

Supports new suppliers qualification.

Develops and updates guidelines or any documents to ease the day to day activities

Designs and leads internal training in their field of specialization

Maintaining and developing proficiency of the Department Personnel in terms of work

procedures, technical training on tools, appraisal and career planning of the team.

Build a positive working environment for employees while driving for continual improvement.

Ensures coordination with other departments to optimize the priorities of company and Project.

Identifies the requirement to subcontract the VPM activities and gets inspection resource

management team involved in managing the Third-Party Agencies

 

Required Skills and Experience:

Languages: English (Fluent)

Main skills:

• Experience in related technical fields and Supplier's Manufacturing workshops

• Good knowledge of Quality Systems and regulations

• Skills in driving and leading problems to a resolution and must demonstrate ability to develop, improve

and implement processes, policies and procedures that impact the function

• Experience in working with multi-cultural teams spread across different geographical areas

 

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in engineering (Mechanical) with Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience. Candidates with ASNT Level II certification and Welding CSWIP 3.1 will be preferred.
