Role Description

• The Global Investment Bank Strategy & Competitive Benchmarking team sits at the centre of the firm’s Investment Bank franchise, supporting firm‑wide strategic priorities and senior leadership decision‑making. The team partners closely with Management Board members, Global and Regional Business Heads, COOs, Finance, and senior stakeholders across Coverage, Product, and Infrastructure functions.
• The role offers significant exposure and visibility, with frequent interaction with senior leadership based across multiple hub locations. Outputs from the team are regularly used in top‑level management discussions, strategic reviews, and executive forums.

Your key responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the development and execution of global Investment Bank strategy, combining rigorous analysis with clear, senior – leadership ready communication

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting global IB strategy development, including medium term strategic planning, thematic deep dives, and ad hoc analyses for senior management
• Leading and coordinating competitive benchmarking and peer analysis across global investment banks, covering strategy, financial performance, business mix, client penetration, and operating models
• Developing board level and executive ready materials, including slide decks, briefing notes, and dashboards, with a strong focus on detail, narrative coherence, and strategic insight
• Working closely within Finance on performance analysis, revenue pool assessments, profitability analysis, and target setting
• Partnering with COOs and business management teams to understand execution considerations, delivery milestones, risks, and dependencies
• Independently driving analytical workstreams end to end while coordinating inputs across multiple functions, teams, and regions

Your skills and experience

We are seeking a high calibre candidate operating at AVP level, with a strong analytical and strategic mindset.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Prior experience in Investment Bank, IB Strategy, Management Consulting (financial services), Corporate Strategy, or Banking COO / Chief of Staff / Business Management roles
• Strong capabilities in strategic analysis, competitive intelligence, benchmarking, and financial analysis
• Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, with a proven ability to produce concise, accurate, and senior – leadership ready materials
• Experience working with senior management and executives
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to operate in a fast paced, globally distributed environment
• A high level of attention to detail, strong commercial judgement, intellectual curiosity, and comfort navigating ambiguous or unstructured problem statements
