Interior Designer
Responsibilities
Architectural Design Development and Oversight:
Oversees the design process for both greenfield and brownfield architectural projects, ensuring that designs align with the airport's strategic goals and enhance the surrounding urban landscape.
Oversee the creation of innovative design concepts by integrating sustainable and modern design principles that improve the overall aesthetic and functionality of the airport.
Project Drawing Review and Issuance:
Review architectural plans, drawings, and specifications at each stage of design, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Issue final drawings for construction (GFC) after extensive reviews with Section Head, ensuring alignment between the design brief and the project execution.
Consultant Management:
Engage and collaborate with external design consultants, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
Establish clear communication channels to facilitate effective collaboration and feedback.
Project and Financial Management:
Manage architectural design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring they adhere to project timelines, budget and quality standards.
Manage the budget for architectural design projects, ensuring that all activities are completed within financial constraints while maximizing value.
Oversee resource allocation, project timelines, and cost management to ensure successful delivery of projects.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure that all architectural designs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals for design plans and address any regulatory issues that arise during design and construction phase.
Assess and manage risks related to design changes, construction challenges, and regulatory compliance. Implement or oversee appropriate design management methodologies to mitigate potential risks.
Conduct Feasibility Studies:
Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of design and planning projects, focusing on technical specifications, cost implications, and potential risks.
Review the results of feasibility studies to refine project plans and ensure they are financially and operationally feasible, while aligning with long-term airport development goals.
Site Inspections and Construction Monitoring:
Conduct site visits, inspections, and evaluations to monitor construction progress and address any design challenges or technical issues that arise.
Provide design clarifications and support to execution teams as needed throughout the project lifecycle.
Industry Awareness and Innovation:
Implement sustainable practices and stay updated on trends in automation, AI and smart building solutions that impact the design and functionality of airports.
Leverage digital technologies to update design processes and integrate new technologies.
Stakeholder Management:
Engage with key stakeholders, including urban planners, local authorities, and contractors, to ensure successful completion of design projects.
Facilitate strategic discussions and design reviews to secure support from executive management and regulatory bodies.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor a team of architects and design professionals providing them with guidance and support.
Identify training needs and focus on skill development to enhance effectiveness of team and foster innovative work environment.

Qualifications
Education Qualification:
A Master’s degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) are advantageous. Certifications available in India include NICMAR’s Project Management Certification and IGBC’s Accredited Professional Certification.
Work Experience:
12-15 years of experience in architectural design, preferably with exposure to city-side or large-scale development projects, mixed use development, hotels, retail mall, offices, convention centres, terminals and ATC.
