Job Description

Graduate Engineer Trainee

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Project Execution (tasks as applicable but not limited to) – 

  • Interpreting P&IDs and other project documentation to develop process requirement 

  • Develop configuration and test guidelines. 

  • Design, implementation and testing of DCS system including GEMs/Dynamo/FP/DT/Batch etc.

  • Escalate project issues/risk proactively to lead engineer, if possible, with mitigation plan. 

  • Take full ownership of the allocated work

  • Conducting or participation in FAT/SAT/Commissioning (if required).

  • Coordination with Project Team for to understand and document scope, schedule of work to be done. 

  • Progress reporting to the team 

  • TQ clarifications 

  • Weekly meetings

  • Follow Emerson’s project execution life cycle and maintain all documentation including technical, quality documents

  • Support in various project activities such as scope review

  • Analyse customer inputs and understand requirements such as Design Specifications, P&IDs, Control Narratives, IO list, Instrument Index, Operating Philosophies etc.

  • Raise Technical Queries

  • Understand/review System Architecture for entire ICSS (Integrated Control & Safety System)

  • Perform I/O to Controller Assignment

  • Understand Software Concepts

  • Understand Hardware Concepts

  • Understand and Configure third party interfaces (Modbus, Profibus, OPC etc.)

  • Understand SW library (Logic as well as graphics)

  • Perform SW/HW Typical Test

  • Design & Develop I/O & base control modules

  • Develop logic

  • Develop graphics

  • Develop Third party interface database/modules

  • Develop/Review System Architecture, Network Diagrams BOM for entire system

  • Verify cabinet build

  • Perform Internal testing

  • Perform Third Party Interface test

  • Perform FAT with customer

  • Develop As Built documentation

  • Loop checks at site

  • Handle Change Management

  • Quality Control & Assurance
  • Implementation of EEEC IMS processes/documentation as & when required throughout the project.
  • Adopts to WA quality requirements and Customer’s regulatory guidelines
  • Practices and promotes First tim*e right approach.
  • Strictly follows GDP (Good Documentation Practices).
  • Other Duties
  • Perform other additional specific duties, when requested by the business. These will, typically, be strategic in nature but could potentially be anything that the post holder is suitably qualified and experienced to undertake. These duties may be assigned to the person under guidance of a supervisor.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • B.E. / B.Tech – Instrumentation & Control / Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunications


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Degree in Instrumentation or any related or equivalent field 

  • Basic understanding of Networking Protocols and concepts 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
