Job Title - Sales & Business Development Manager – Birthdays, Venues & Partnerships

Department - Sales, Events & Business Development

Reports To - Founder / Senior Director Events / Operations Head

Location - Vashi (Navi Mumbai)


Role Purpose

The Sales & Business Development Manager will own two important growth areas for Blue Sparrow Events:

First, they will manage the full birthday sales funnel — from handling parent enquiries, understanding briefs, sending proposals, following up, closing bookings and handing over details to Operations.

Second, they will build Blue Sparrow’s venue and partnership network by scouting venues, creating area-wise databases, negotiating partnerships and identifying new business opportunities such as décor tie-ups, catering collaborations and co-branded event offerings.

This role is ideal for someone who can sell warmly to parents, build strong external relationships and think entrepreneurially about new revenue opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Birthday Sales & Client ConversionHandle inbound birthday enquiries from WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, website forms and phone calls.

  • Understand each client’s requirement including theme, child’s age, guest count, venue, budget and preferred experience.
  • Recommend suitable birthday packages, activities and add-ons based on the client brief.
  • Send customised proposals and follow up consistently to improve conversion.
  • Upsell premium add-ons such as extended time, extra science experiments, art stations, DIY kits, return gifts and themed activity counters.
  • Handle price objections professionally and explain the value of Blue Sparrow’s hands-on experiences.
  • Confirm bookings, collect deposits and track payment milestones.
  • Maintain warm communication with confirmed clients until final handover to Operations.
  • Drive repeat bookings and referrals through post-event follow-up.


2. Venue Scouting & Venue PartnershipsBuild and maintain an organised, area-wise venue database across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and other cities Blue Sparrow operates in.

  • Scout venues such as banquet halls, society clubs, boutique hotels, restaurants, mall spaces, open-air venues and private event spaces.
  • Conduct site visits to assess capacity, access, setup feasibility, outdoor space, parking, AV support, kitchen facilities and child-safety factors.
  • Recommend suitable venues for birthday clients based on budget, location, theme and guest count.
  • Negotiate venue partnerships for preferential pricing, priority access, cross-referrals and co-marketing opportunities.
  • Maintain a live venue booking tracker in coordination with the Operations team.
  • Stay updated on new venue openings and premium event spaces in key areas.


3. Partnerships & New Business DevelopmentIdentify new service lines that Blue Sparrow can add, such as décor, catering tie-ups, return gifts, rental props, curated birthday packages and venue-linked event offerings.

  • Research and approach catering partners, banquet vendors, décor vendors, balloon artists, furniture rental companies and prop studios.
  • Build preferred-partner arrangements with vendors and venues.
  • Map partners area-wise to understand which vendors are strong in which location.
  • Conduct competitor research to understand what other kids’ event companies and premium venues are offering.
  • Identify white-space opportunities where Blue Sparrow can create stronger offerings.
  • Prepare simple business proposals for new offerings, including pricing, target client, operational requirements and revenue potential.
  • Support pilot launches of approved new business lines with Sales, Operations and Marketing teams.


4. Internal Coordination & ReportingLog all enquiries, follow-ups, bookings and closures in the sales tracker or CRM.

  • Maintain updated venue, vendor and partnership databases.
  • Share clear booking handovers with the Operations team, including client requirements, package details, payment status, venue details and special instructions.
  • Coordinate with Marketing for co-branded venue promotions or partner-led campaigns.
  • Share weekly reports on enquiries, conversions, venue additions, partnerships and new business opportunities.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Event Management or any relevant field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, hospitality, events or premium consumer services.
  • Experience in kids’ events, hospitality, venues, F&B, décor, party planning or family-focused brands will be a strong advantage.
  • Must be comfortable with both digital communication and field visits.


Required Skills

  • Strong WhatsApp, phone and client communication skills.
  • Warm and persuasive sales approach, especially with parents.
  • Ability to understand event briefs and recommend suitable packages.
  • Strong follow-up discipline and target orientation.
  • Good negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to scout venues and assess practical event feasibility.
  • Basic commercial understanding of pricing, margins and partnership models.
  • Strong Google Sheets / CRM / tracker management skills.
  • Ability to build simple proposals and business cases.
  • Good coordination skills with internal teams and external partners.
  • Market awareness of venues, vendors and premium event trends.
