Design Head

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Design Head to lead the design and engineering function for LV & MV electrical panels. The candidate will be responsible for design standardization, technical approvals, customer drawing submissions, and ensuring timely project execution with compliance to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and engineering team for LV & MV panel projects.
• Review customer specifications, SLDs, BOQs, tender documents, and project requirements.
• Oversee preparation of GA drawings, schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and cable schedules.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IS, and customer technical specifications.
• Standardize design processes, engineering documentation, and product architecture.
• Coordinate with estimation, sales, production, quality, and project teams for seamless execution.
• Handle customer approvals, consultant comments, and drawing revisions.
• Support manufacturing team in resolving design-related technical issues.
• Optimize panel design for cost efficiency, manufacturability, and standardization.
• Manage routine/type test requirements and technical documentation.
• Mentor and develop design engineers and draughtsmen.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 10–18 years of experience in LV & MV panel design and engineering.
• Strong expertise in design of PCC, MCC, APFC, Synchronizing Panels, VFD Panels, PLC Panels, and MV Switchboards.
• Knowledge of protection schemes, relay logic, busbar design, thermal calculations, and short circuit withstand requirements.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of IEC standards, switchgear selection, and panel integration.
• Leadership and project coordination skills.
