Job Description
1. Core ObjectiveTo maintain absolute command over all digital auction portals (MSTC, Metal Junction, RailPost, Salasar, etc.), identifying high-value alloy opportunities, managing the financial/legal compliance for bidding, and acting as the primary bridge between the company, the auction portals, and the selling plants.
- 2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Auction Intelligence & "Viewing"Portal Scanning: Daily scanning of 10+ auction portals for scrap categories including SS series
- Catalog Analysis: Downloading and deconstructing detailed auction catalogs. Identifying "hidden" high-value items (e.g., boiler tubes, turbine components, or P91 pipes) that may be buried in general scrap descriptions.
- Competitor Tracking: Monitoring and recording the H1 Bidder results and closing prices of all relevant auctions to build a historical "Price Intelligence" database.
- B. Selection & Strategic EvaluationTechnical Filtering: Pre-selecting lots based on chemistry potential and "Melt Recovery" value. Coordinating with the technical team to estimate the "Value-per-Point" of Nickel/Chrome before the bid.
- Plant Maintenance Tracking: Keeping a calendar of major industrial shutdowns (Refineries, Thermal Power Plants, Fertilizer units) to predict when high-alloy scrap will hit the portals.
- Bid-Sheet Preparation: Preparing precise "Max-Bid" sheets for management approval, accounting for GST, TCS, freight, and expected weight shortage.
- C. Liaisoning & Compliance (The "No-Loophole" Zone)EMD & Payment Management: Ensuring Earnest Money Deposits (EMD) are processed 24-48 hours before the deadline. Maintaining a zero-fail record for payment schedules (SD, Balance Payment) to avoid EMD forfeiture.
- Vendor Registration (KYC): Managing and updating company registrations across all portals. Ensuring GST, PAN, Bank, and MSME certificates are always current so the company is never "locked out" of a bid.
- Plant Liaisoning: Acting as the primary point of contact for Plant Commercial Officers. Clarifying lot descriptions, seeking extensions for lifting periods, and resolving on-site documentation issues via email and phone.
- Post-Auction Documentation: Managing the end-to-end flow of Sale Orders (SO), Delivery Orders (DO), and Lifting Authorizations to the field team.
- 3. Performance Standards (Zero-Loophole Clause)Zero Deadline Miss: Any failure to submit EMD or pay the balance on time, resulting in a penalty or portal blacklisting, is a direct performance failure.
- Data Integrity: Maintaining a "Live Auction Tracker" (Google Sheets/ERP) with real-time updates on Bid Status, Payment Status, and Lifting Balances.
- Anti-Collusion: Absolute confidentiality regarding company bidding strategies and maximum price limits.
- 4. Required Skill SetPortal Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of MSTC, mjunction, and Metal Junction interfaces.
- Commercial Acumen: Understanding of GST (18%), TCS (1%), and industrial scrap HSN codes.
- Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in Excel for calculating "Landed Cost" and "Net Realization."
- Communication: High-level professional drafting skills for email liaisoning with Government/Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) officials.
- Technical Awareness: Basic understanding of metal grades to interpret catalog descriptions accurately.
