Commis Chef at Vaidyamudra Ayurvedic Wellness Sanctuary

Vaidyamudra seeks a dedicated Commis Chef to support our farm-to-table Ayurvedic kitchen, preparing nourishing meals that align with holistic healing principles. This entry-level role assists senior chefs in creating dosha-balancing cuisine using fresh, organic ingredients from our herbal gardens.

• Key ResponsibilitiesMeasure and prepare ingredients accurately, including washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, fruits, and herbs, while seasoning meats or alternatives as directed by the Chef de Partie.
• Assist in basic salad, sauce, and Ayurvedic dish preparation, ensuring adherence to traditional recipes for Panchakarma diets and wellness retreats.
• Receive deliveries, verify quality of organic produce and spices, organize stock, and discard expired items to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene by sanitizing workstations, mopping spills, and reporting equipment issues, complying with food safety standards.
• Plate and present meals under supervision, supporting efficient service during yoga retreats, therapies, and café operations.
• Qualifications and SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent; culinary arts certification or diploma preferred.
• 1-2 years of commercial kitchen experience, ideally with interest in Ayurvedic or holistic cooking.
• Food handler's license and strong knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Ability to stand for long periods, work under pressure, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills, team spirit, and eagerness to learn Vedic-inspired cuisine principles.
