Fashion Designer Job Description (Including Freelance Interest)

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and passionate Fashion Designer who is interested in both full-time fashion designing and freelance opportunities. The candidate should have strong knowledge of fashion trends, garment construction, fabric selection, and digital design tools. Designers from reputed institutes such as Pearl Academy, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), and Amity University will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Research latest fashion trends and market styles
• Create fashion sketches, illustrations, and mood boards
• Design garments and develop new collections
• Select fabrics, colors, patterns, and accessories
• Coordinate with production teams and vendors
• Conduct fittings and ensure garment quality
• Handle freelance fashion projects and custom client orders
• Maintain deadlines and communicate with clients professionally
• Build and maintain a creative portfolio and social media presence

Required Skills

• Strong creativity and fashion sense
• Good knowledge of fabrics and garment construction
• Proficiency in:
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Photoshop
• CorelDRAW
• Fashion illustration and sketching skills
• Communication and presentation skills
• Time management and client-handling abilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design
• Preferred colleges/institutes:
• Pearl Academy
• National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)
• Amity University
• Internship or freelance experience is an added advantage
• Strong design portfolio preferred
