Role ObjectiveWe are seeking a skilled Optical Fiber Splicer to join our technical team in the Delhi Business Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the high-quality joining of fiber optic cables, performing emergency restorations, and ensuring the seamless expansion of our Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network infrastructure.

• Key ResponsibilitiesSplicing & Termination: Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables. Manage fiber preparation, including stripping, cleaning, and cleaving.
• Installation & Maintenance: Install and maintain Fiber Distribution Hubs (FDH), splitters, and Optical Network Terminals (ONT).
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Use an OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), Power Meter, and VFL (Visual Fault Locator) to identify fiber breaks, macro-bends, or high-loss splices.
• Fault Restoration: Respond to emergency fiber cuts or network outages within the Delhi territory to ensure minimal downtime for subscribers.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate splicing diagrams, fiber maps, and test reports for all completed tasks.
• Site Survey: Assist in route surveys and the deployment of overhead and underground fiber cables in urban environments.
• Technical Skills & QualificationsRequirementSpecificationEducationITI/Diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.Tool ProficiencyExpert handle on Fusion Splicing Machines (e.g., Fujikura, Sumitomo) and OTDR.Network KnowledgeStrong understanding of GPON technology and FTTH architecture.Physical AbilityAbility to work at heights (ladders/poles) and in confined spaces (manholes).Local NavigationFamiliarity with Delhi’s geography and experience navigating congested urban layouts.Preferred AttributesDetail-Oriented: Ability to maintain low-loss splices (typically below $0.02 \text{ dB}$).
