Firewall Assurance - Associate
This role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field.
•Equivalent practical experience, internships, or relevant coursework may be considered.
Work experience
•1–3 years of hands-on experience in network security, firewall operations, cloud security, or IT security roles.
•Assist in firewall policy configuration, rule reviews, and basic optimization tasks for enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).
•Assist in Network Security Policy Management (NSPM) activities using Tufin: support policy change workflows, rule documentation, and basic compliance reporting.
•Participate in Tufin-based firewall rule reviews and help identify unused or redundant rules for decommissioning.
•Conduct firewall log analysis and basic threat detection using SIEM tools (Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk).
•Support cloud network security tasks: configure and review AWS security groups, NACLs, and Azure NSGs under supervision.
•Participate in firewall change management processes, documentation updates, and compliance audits.
•Help implement basic VPN configurations, NAT policies, and security zone definitions.
•Assist in cloud security assessments: identify misconfigurations in AWS and Azure environments using basic CSPM tools.
•Support incident response activities by analyzing firewall logs, identifying suspicious traffic patterns, and escalating findings.
•Contribute to automation initiatives using scripts (Python, PowerShell) for firewall rule management and reporting.
•Learn and apply cloud networking concepts: VPC/VNet architecture, subnets, routing tables, and hybrid connectivity basics.
