Subject: Quantity Surveyor (MEP) – Mechanical/Electrical Background

One of our leading clients is currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical or Electrical Background) for MEP projects.

Job Description

1) Cost Estimation & Budgeting

• Prepare detailed pre-tender cost estimates and budgets for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems based on drawings and specifications.

2) Quantity Take-offs

• Accurately measure and quantify MEP materials and components using tools such as CostX and/or AutoCAD.

3) Billing & Certification

• Prepare and review contractor RA (Running Account) bills

• Verify work progress and process final account settlements.

4) Tendering & Procurement

• Compile tender documents, evaluate vendor bids, and assist in contract negotiations for MEP packages.

5) Cost Control & Variation Management

• Monitor project expenditures vs. the budget

• Manage variations/change orders and prepare monthly financial status reports.

6) Value Engineering

• Identify cost-saving opportunities by recommending alternative materials or design methods without compromising quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

• Strong knowledge of MEP quantity surveying and cost estimation practices

• Experience with CostX and/or AutoCAD (preferred)
