Job Description
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Sales manager is a front-line sales professional responsible for identifying potential customers, promoting company products and services, and converting leads into paying clients. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who is passionate about sales, comfortable with targets, and capable of building strong customer relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify and pursue new sales leads through cold calling, field visits, networking, and online research.
• Present, promote, and sell company products/services to prospective and existing customers.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as assigned by the Sales Manager.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with prospects to advance deals through the pipeline.
• Prepare and submit sales proposals, quotes, and contracts.
• Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, leads, and customer interactions in the CRM.
• Build and maintain positive long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business.
• Address customer queries, objections, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide market feedback and competitor intelligence to the sales and marketing teams.
• Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and industry events as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
• 2 years of experience in a direct sales or business development role.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience in field sales, telecalling, or retail/B2B sales is an advantage.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
• Confident and persuasive — able to handle objections and close deals.
• Goal-oriented with a resilient and persistent attitude.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
NICE TO HAVE
• Knowledge of the local market / regional language proficiency.
• Prior experience in [specific sector, e.g., insurance, fintech, real estate, building material Plyboard FMCG].
• Two-wheeler or four-wheeler with a valid driving licence (for field roles).
