Job SummaryThe CMM Inspector is responsible for dimensional inspection of precision machined components, jigs, fixtures, BIW fixture components, and automotive parts using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The role includes CMM programming, inspection, report generation, calibration verification, and ensuring all products conform to customer drawings and quality standards.

• Key Responsibilities1. CMM InspectionPerform dimensional inspection using CMM.
• Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI).
• Carry out in-process and final inspections.
• Verify geometric tolerances (GD&T).
• Measure critical dimensions as per customer drawings.
• 2. CMM ProgrammingCreate CMM programs from CAD models.
• Modify existing programs when drawings change.
• Optimize inspection cycle time.
• Maintain CMM program database.
• 3. Drawing InterpretationRead engineering drawings.
• Understand GD&T symbols.
• Verify dimensions according to customer specifications.
• Review revision changes before inspection.
• 4. Inspection ReportsGenerate inspection reports.
• Prepare First Piece Inspection Reports (FPIR).
• Prepare Final Inspection Reports (FIR).
• Submit reports to QA and Project teams.
• Maintain digital inspection records.
• 5. Instrument ControlEnsure measuring instruments are calibrated.
• Verify CMM calibration status.
• Handle gauges with proper care.
• Maintain calibration records.
• 6. Quality ControlIdentify non-conforming parts.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Participate in corrective and preventive actions.
• 7. Customer SupportSupport customer inspections.
• Coordinate with customer QC representatives.
• Explain inspection reports during customer visits.
