Plant / Factory Manager

The Factory Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the end-to-end fabrication process. This role balances technical oversight with commercial leadership to achieve production deadlines and high-quality outputs. The manager develops manufacturing budgets, optimizes production processes, and manages the day-to-day coordination of design, procurement, and dispatch teams.

Production Planning & Control

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimal delay.
• Monitor workflow to prevent bottlenecks in cutting, bending, and welding.

Shop Floor Management

• Manage laser cutting, CNC bending, welding, assembly and powder coating operations.
• Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, and raw materials.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet customer demands.

Quality Control & Process Improvement

• Ensure finished goods meet or exceed industry and client standards.
• Monitor quality at all stages of manufacturing to minimize rework and scrap.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Material & Inventory Management

• Monitor raw material availability, such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel sheets.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for timely material planning.
• Control material wastage and scrap generation.

Maintenance & Safety

• Ensure proper preventative and corrective maintenance of heavy machinery.
• Enforce safety regulations and maintain a safe workplace for the shop floor team.
• Conduct regular housekeeping and safety inspections

Team Leadership

• Hire, train, and supervise production staff, including operators, welders, and helpers.
• Evaluate employee performance and coach production teams.
• Conduct daily production meetings to set targets and outline expectations

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Management.
• Experience: 5 - 15 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, structural steel fabrication, or heavy engineering.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, GD&T, and CNC programming.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
