Job Profile: Plasma Cutting Technician & Material Coordinator

​1. Core Plasma Operations & Technical Duties

​Production Execution: Interpret production schedules, retrieve correct DXF/G-code files from the server, verify them against cutting reports, and execute precise cuts on sheets.

​Material Utilization: Strategically plan the cutting layout to maximize sheet yield.

​Material Handling: Safely load raw sheets onto the plasma bed and unload finished parts, ensuring proper surface protection.

​Part Identification: Accurately label or stamp cut parts according to the production order to ensure traceability.

​Technical Proficiency: Operate the machine software; maintain basic mechanical knowledge to perform routine machine checks and troubleshoot minor operational issues.

​2. Inventory & Scrap Management

​Stock Planning: Regularly monitor available sheet material and flag low-stock levels to the procurement team before production stops.

​Scrap Control: Maintain an organized log of all scrap material (reusable offcuts vs. waste) to ensure maximum material recovery and accurate inventory counts.

​3. Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities

​Record Keeping: Maintain detailed digital or physical logs for all cutting operations, including material used, parts produced, and job completion status.

​Logistics & Dispatch: Coordinate dispatch activities, including packing and labeling finished goods, and ensure all outgoing shipments are cross-checked against production records.

​RMP/RMS Management: Maintain accurate records for Raw Material Procurement (RMP) and Raw Material Stock (RMS), ensuring that physical stock matches the system records.

​Store Management: Oversee general store inventory duties as assigned, ensuring orderly storage and retrieval of components.

​4. Supervisory & Oversight Duties

​Part-time Supervision: Act as a shift supervisor for part-time personnel, providing basic guidance, safety oversight, and quality control checks for their work.

​Workflow Coordination: Act as a bridge between the office (planning) and the shop floor to ensure smooth material flow.
