Job Description
A Production Engineer would typically handle manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, quality control, and production planning activities related to bulk material handling equipment such as screw conveyors, rotary feeders, and conveyor systems.
The main responsibilities usually include:
- Core Roles & ResponsibilitiesPlanning and supervising daily production activities
- Managing fabrication and assembly operations
- Monitoring production targets and ensuring on-time delivery
- Handling manpower allocation and shop-floor supervision
- Coordinating with design, purchase, quality, and dispatch departments
- Reading engineering drawings and fabrication layouts
- Ensuring product quality and defect-free production
- Monitoring machine utilization and production efficiency
- Maintaining production reports, SOPs, and ERP documentation
- Implementing 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and safety practices
- Coordinating with vendors/subcontractors for outsourced jobs
- Reducing production downtime and improving productivity
- Handling material planning, WIP tracking, and stock monitoring
- Ensuring ISO standards and safety compliance
- Training operators and new workers on processes and safety
- Technical Skills Commonly ExpectedFabrication and welding knowledge
- Knowledge of conveyors/material handling equipment
- Production planning and process control
- MS Excel, ERP software, and reporting
- Understanding of mechanical drawings
- Quality inspection tools and methods
- Lean manufacturing concepts like 5S and Kaizen
