Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic Automation Engineer with a strong focus on commissioning and field execution. This role is primarily responsible for delivering high-quality automation solutions at customer sites through installation, startup, commissioning, and validation. The position offers significant hands-on exposure in real production environments, requiring close collaboration with global teams and frequent travel to support successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills and will bring expertise in automation tools with a commitment to customer focus, quality, and innovation. This person will impact the organization by being a recognized leader and proactive problem solver, while showing the enthusiasm for the company.
The Automation Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager.
This position is opened for our office in Chakan (India), mainly focused on Powder Process & Technology
You will be required to travel to client sites (international) in up to 50% of your time for meeting & commissioning.
What you will do
As an Automation Engineer you will:
- Create Functional Specifications
- Design Hardware & Software Architecture
- Make programming and specifications in time, with correct quality and at specified cost
- Make hardware configuration, electrical panel testing
- Make software installation & configuration
- Design, execute and test the software of PLC/HMI/SCADA in control systems
- Create Operating Manual
- Conduct automation training for customer personnel on the installed systems.
- Execute Testing and commissioning of hardware and software at customer site, international
- Setting up and adjusts system parameters
- Handle complex electrical, automation & process troubleshooting, with support from office-based specialists during live commissioning under real-time conditions
We believe you have
- Degree in Automation or Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role preferably in an international environment
- Good knowledge and proven understanding of equipment and processes within the food/dairy industry, preferably in Powder Handling industry.
- Good knowledge in PLC (Siemens or Rockwell), SCADAs (Aveva ignition), Microsoft Sql Server (stored procedure , reporting services) programming and commissioning.
- Good knowledge in TP PlantMaster.
- Good knowledge in MES System, Virtualization, Industrial Network integration.
- Working knowledge of ISA-S88 and S95 preferred
- Fluent in English in both verbal and in writing
- Result oriented approach, with aim for improvement
- Commitment and enthusiasm on the job
- Both technical and commercial approach with a structured and independent way of working
- Strong commissioning experience
Travel Requirements
- The role requires frequent domestic and international travel (30–50% or more) which will give global exposure, accelerated learning, professional network expansion.
- Travel includes short-term and long-term assignments for commissioning, validation, and customer support
- Flexibility to travel at short notice is essential
