Role Overview

Estimation & Planning Engineers are responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and project budgets by analyzing preliminary research data, reviewing project deliverables, and evaluating subcontractors. The role requires strong knowledge of specifications, proposals, and construction documents to estimate time, cost, materials, and labor for commercial and residential projects.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare quantity sheets from onsite data and drawings.
• Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and item-rate bills from tender documents.
• Process and verify subcontractor bills.
• Take measurements from site engineers and validate accuracy.
• Check and certify bills and invoices from vendors and contractors.
• Provide complete quantity take-off, analysis, and estimates for assigned scope.
• Identify design and constructability issues; recommend cost-efficient alternatives.
• Act as a liaison between subcontractors, design teams (architects, engineers, consultants), and clients.
• Analyze site conditions and contract documents to determine unindicated scope requirements.
• Coordinate with the execution team and update daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Candidate ProfileQualifications

• BE / DCE (Civil Engineering)

Experience

• 2–4 years in a construction company (commercial and residential projects).
• Prior experience in client billing within a contracting firm.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of estimation and quantity calculations from drawings.
• Ability to prepare project budgets, detailed BOQs, rate analysis, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in preparing subcontractor and client bills.
• Expertise in bill checking and certification.
• Immediate availability preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, and AutoCAD is mandatory.
