Role Description

  • In the Private Bank Business Transformation department, we support the (digital) transformation along the entire value chain for the Private Bank. Together with our partners in Private Bank, we operate the (digital) transformation portfolio, aligned with our strategic goals, customer needs, and budgets. In doing so, we continuously improve customer experience and create the foundation for successful digitalization and transformation.
  • Our goal: a transformation in which tech teams and business speak the same language – clear, structured, and forward‑looking, all for the benefit of the customer.
  • The PB Target Operating Model (PB TOM) is not just another project; it's a fundamental transformation initiative within Deutsche Bank Private Bank. We're radically rethinking our product, process, and IT landscape, moving beyond incremental changes to truly innovate and leverage AI-first strategies to deliver best-in-class customer experience and drive growth.

    As a Director leading a team of 30, you'll be at the forefront of this ambitious journey. Your team will be instrumental in building the future operating model, contributing directly to key design principles like developing a modern, scalable core banking platform, ensuring a holistic front-to-back view, and embedding AI for enhanced productivity. This role offers unparalleled influence in shaping our strategic objectives and ensuring the successful execution of critical initiatives. You'll operate within a dynamic environment, utilizing a flexible pool-based organizational model that fosters career opportunities and agility support.

Your key responsibilities

  • Professionally leads Transformation Specialists in heterogeneous and complex project environments.  Responsible for business solution design of transformational programs. Supports team to identify the full range of business requirements and translate requirements into specific functional specifications for solution development and implementation.
  • Maintains dedicated client relationships with key stakeholders of the Private Bank, with CIO PB and, if applicable, with external partners of Deutsche Bank. Agrees with stakeholders on the content of the business requirements to be implemented.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders, influencing the definition of strategic objectives, shaping long-term transformation roadmaps, and meticulously crafting compelling business cases for critical products/change initiatives.
  • Design innovative and practical solutions that leverage technology, process re-engineering, and organizational change to achieve desired outcomes. Drive the creation, maintenance, and strategic reporting for the overall team initiatives. Act as a contact person between business and CIO area for the own scope, coordinate alignments, and ensure traceability of requirements.
  • Answering questions of methodological approach with varying levels of complexity.
  • Drive strategic talent development, mentoring, and succession planning for key roles within the transformation function. 
  • Directly manage a team of professionals, including performance management, coaching, and career development to foster a high-performing and engaged team.
  • Act as a role model and subject matter expert, inspiring and guiding colleagues towards achieving strategic goals.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP, Agile) preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of extensive and proven experience in leading business analysis, process improvement, complex change management, or senior consulting roles within the financial services industry.
  • Minimum 2+ years of people manager experience : performance management, career development, training plans for team members.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and extensive experience in spearheading and delivering multiple large-scale, complex business transformation programs or portfolios, with a clear track record of significant, measurable business impact.
  • Solid understanding of financial products, services, and regulatory environments (e.g., KYC, AML, MiFID II, Basel III).
  • Experience working across divisions and infrastructure functions, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to represent resilience topics at executive and board-level forums.
  • Business-fluent English (written and spoken). Business-fluent German (written and spoken) is a plus.
