DM/ AM - Assembly
Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
As an Officer - Assembly at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and efficient manufacturing line operations within the Automotive Division’s Module Production-EPT department. You will lead day-to-day line activities and shift handling, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to maintain production flow and meet operational targets.
- Oversee and manage line operations and shift activities, ensuring all processes run according to schedule while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
- Implement and monitor strict adherence to process controls and quality checkpoints to guarantee product excellence and compliance with industry standards.
- Supervise end-of-line (EOL) testing, in-process inspections, and defect containment activities, ensuring timely detection and resolution of quality issues.
- Proactively track, investigate, and close abnormalities, equipment breakdowns, and quality alerts to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
- Drive the deployment of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) pillars, 5S methodologies, and Kaizen continuous improvement initiatives at the shop-floor level to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and foster a culture of operational excellence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production documentation, reports, and records, facilitating data-driven decision making and audit readiness.
- Coach and mentor assembly operators on standard work procedures and safety practices, promoting a workplace culture dedicated to quality and well-being.
- Collaborate closely with the Quality department to address customer complaints and drive Parts Per Million (PPM) defect reduction, ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous quality improvement.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and coordinate with other departments such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to align production goals and troubleshoot operational challenges.
- Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and provide input into capacity planning and workforce management to optimize resource utilization.
- Champion safety standards by ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
This role requires a proactive approach, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement, enabling the team to meet stringent quality and delivery targets while fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
