Pune Global Service Centre FP&A Team

India is growing as an Apex Group finance hub as it provides intelligent, enthusiastic, and energetic professionals to compliment a strong global finance team. This is a great opportunity to join the Global FP&A Team who have chosen India as their FP&A Global Service Centre (GSC). 

The FP&A Pune Team started with a 7-member team in 2021 in Phase 1. Following early successes of the Pune team and the need for increased reporting to stakeholders following business acquisitions, the team grew to 32 members by 2024 in the subsequent hiring phases. We now have a team of technically strong and energetic employees and middle management professionals delivering an increasing number of data sets, standardised deliverables, and improved analytical reporting to assist the Global FP&A team in managing reporting for the entire portfolio of Group Companies.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Global Head of FP&A in Bermuda, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SVP finance professional to join a high calibre business partnering team and lead the business partnering for Financial Solutions.

Financial Solutions covers Depositary, Custody, Digital Banking, Foreign Exchange, Management Company and Emerging Asset Management Services.

Numerous asset classes are serviced, including Hedge funds, Fund of Funds, Listed funds, Hybrid funds, Managed accounts, Mutual Funds, Pension funds, Venture Capital, UCITS, Exchange Traded Products, Private Debt, Real Estate, Wealth Administration services, etc.

Services provided include Manco and Super ManCo in all major markets, Banking Services, Depository Services, ESG and sustainability services, fund administration and fund distribution, regulatory and compliance solutions, etc.

Also, within Financial Solutions, the Apex Group owns the European Depositary Bank in Luxembourg.

Financial Solutions is an important contributor to the group’s EBITDA.

Emphasis is on elevating revenue and people cost analysis, including client profitability, organic growth, forward looking KPIs (e.g., revenue by headcount, AUM servicing), and cohort analysis.

A key focus is to build an existing monthly recurring revenue analysis, and to provide insights and drivers for month-on-month variances and variances to plan. 

The role will lead on revenue and people cost planning and forecasting and provide competitor benchmarking.

Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders, including the Group Head of Financial Solutions and the Chief Product Officer is key.

Job specification

Build executive presence and daily interaction with senior stakeholders. Stakeholders include:

  • Group Head of Financial Solutions
  • Chief Product Officer
  • Regional Finance Heads and Regional Finance Teams

Produce Monthly Product Results covering:

  • Board pages including key messaging (CM vs PM/PY/Plan/FC)
  • Monthly revenue flash by sub-product, region and country
  • Monthly recurring revenue, non-recurring revenue by sub-product, region and country
  • NII and market movement analysis
  • Benchmarking to peers
  • People cost and forecast
  • Synergy forecast vs targets and monitoring of role relocation initiatives
  • Client profitability analysis / cohort analysis
  • Revenue and people cost by region and country trend analysis
  • IT Segmental Costs and IT Disbursement Revenue margin tracking
  • Organic Growth, Proforma EBITDA and EBITDA Margins, KPIs (e.g. Revenue by Headcount)

Business Partner to the Group Head of Financial Solutions:

  • Provide ongoing insight and analytics, including:
    • Revenue and people cost early view (Flash) by sub-product and by region and country
    • NII and market movement analysis
    • Drivers and explanations for movements month on month and versus plan, forecast and prior year

Run the Financial Solutions Plan and Forecasting Process and Reviews:

  • Set the revenue strategic plan with the Head of Financial Solutions and the Chief Product Officer
  • Drive product targets with regions and country heads and monitor the plan process
  • Provide insight to the plan, including competitor analysis
  • Deliver a rolling revenue forecast over the segment P&L together with the group FP&A team

Ad Hoc:

  • Board, Lender, CEO and CFO queries
  • Analysis for financial solutions results

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • Banking background with experience in Excel and Power Point is a must
  • Good communication and writing skills to support commentary for senior executives
  • Knowledge of Workday and Adaptive Planning (group management reporting system) an added advantage
  • Attention to details
  • Minimum 10 years Post Qualification experience
  • Demonstrable Team Player in a Global Team
  • Build excellent working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Motivate and empower team members by building their capabilities
  • Ensure reporting deliverables are produced and reviewed to a high standard and delivered in a timely manner
