                                                                                                                                            IDMS Category Buyer- Automotive Business

 

We are in the process of identifying a suitable candidate for the role of IDMS Category Buyer. This role will be based in Pune and will report to the IDMS Category Manager.

Sourcing & procurement activities for SKF India (3 bearing factories + Sales + all common functions

Categories – Services, Logistics and Tail spend      

Key responsibilities (or What you can expect in the role) 

Perform local purchasing according to defined strategy and frameworks:

Category Management Support

• Spend analytics & analyzing data to industry and C/T/Q trends
• Implementation of sourcing strategy
• Ownership of pricing and commercial discussions incl rate contracts, frame agreements within purchasing process framework.
• Develop new suppliers in collaboration with user functions.

Operational purchasing – PR processing, end-to-end negotiations and agreement preparation 

• Study the drawings / specifications received from the user and send enquiries to vendors and get the price quotations.
• Review purchase requisitions and identify sources of supply 
• Comparative quotes arranging and discussion with supplier for mentioned commodities.
• Understand contracting terms & condition and good in drafting complex contracts.
• Coordinate with finance team 
• Support follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries of items.
• Work in close collaboration with Global Category team, as well as end users
• Continuously track supplier performance

 

Requirements (or We expect you to have/be) 

• 5+ years of relevant techno-commercial experience in industrial/ auto cos.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant sourcing & procurement experience.
• Commercial acumen
• Knowledge of the commercial terms and contracting 
• Advanced Excel and ERP system knowledge/ (SAP Ariba) added advantage

• High ownership + attention to detail
• Good stakeholder management skills – Suppliers + internal teams
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Can work under strict deadlines.
