Manager - Inbound Logistics & Packaging

BASIC JOB UNDERSTANDING

1. Have understanding of auto parts & its supply chain process.
2. Having good understanding of prevailing packaging methods & upcoming new methods/materials in sustainable packaging.
3. Having good understanding of transportation management, available truck types & its usage within manufacturing industry.
4. Having fair idea on available material handling equipment’s which can efficiently handle different type of packaging.
5. Having fair idea on government regulations on ESG policy, usage of plastics etc.. or any such material for packaging in auto industry.
6. Work of sustainability – target setting for major vendors & plants.

      SCM roles and Understanding:

1. Have an understanding of inventory handling and material handling equipments.
2. Should be well versant with Annual inventory process.
3. Should head and monitor annual inventory process & carry out perpetual inventory .
4. Should be having good understanding of SAP for Supply chain.

PACKAGING DEVLOPMENT:

1. Developing Packaging solutions for automotive components
2. Developing solutions for new projects while model/parts transfer from different locations
3. Usage of sustainable methods & materials while solutioning.
4. Self starter attitude and can identify opportunities of improvement in current packaging methods.
5. Develop process of Packaging BOM which will lead to better cost estimation.
6. Have good hands on experience on designing/developing steelages/trolleys/fixtures for auto parts.
7. Have good hands on experience on designing/developing non-steel packaging for auto parts.
8. Work with part suppliers & different Supply Chain teams to identify packaging improvement opportunities, provide solutioning support to these teams & execute such initiatives,
9. For any such improvement opportunities prepare case papers to get it approved from finance dept.

COST ESTIMATIONS & OPTIMIZATIONS

1. Knowhow on prices of materials related to packaging.
2. Provide cost estimations to different supply chain or sourcing teams on existing or new packaging methods.
3. Identify plant wise initiatives using different levers to optimize packaging cost.
4. Budgeting for spends related to packaging & estimating packaging costs for different models.
5. Preparing business cases & present to finance dept for getting budgets & thereafter execute same with different supply chain/plant teams.

TEAM WORK & EXECUTION EXCELLENCE

1. 1. Working with teams sitting at different locations
   2. Ensuring targets are set for each plant related to ESG index (plastic/wood redn etc..) & working with these teams to implement same.
   3. Co-ordination with different departments & plants to ensure new ideas are generated & implemented.
   4. Having an achiever mindset & go getter attitude with positive mindset.
   5. Problem solving capabilities & enable internal customers to get defect free parts which may be due to transportation/packaging/handling.
