Senior Backend Developer - Node.js, GraphQL & Cloud (AWS/Azure)

Minimum Qualifications: • 9+ years of overall experience in backend engineering with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js. • Proven experience designing and implementing GraphQL APIs, including schema design and resolver patterns. • Strong experience delivering solutions on AWS and Azure, including architecture, deployment, and operations. • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive technical alignment. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience building cloud-native backend platforms with strong focus on performance tuning, scalability, and resilience. • Expertise in API lifecycle management, versioning strategies, and governance for GraphQL-based services. • Experience implementing security best practices for cloud and APIs, including authentication/authorization patterns and secure access controls. • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end, from discovery and design through delivery and operationalization. • Track record of mentoring teams, improving engineering practices, and driving consistent code quality through reviews and standards. Good to have skills: TypeScript, Apollo Server, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines Key Responsibilities: Architecture & Technical Leadership • Lead the architecture and development of backend services using Node.js and GraphQL, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance. • Define API standards, schema design guidelines, and best practices for GraphQL queries, mutations, and resolvers. • Drive technical decision-making, conduct design reviews, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and engineering standards. Cloud Engineering (AWS & Azure) • Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS and Azure services, focusing on reliability, security, and cost optimization. • Establish deployment patterns and operational practices for cloud workloads, including monitoring, logging, and incident readiness. • Ensure cloud governance adherence, including identity, access management, and secure configuration practices. Delivery & Collaboration • Partner with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and delivery plans. • Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and support team execution through code reviews and engineering coaching. • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and provide regular status updates.
