Job Title: Project Manager,  FIC Tech Infrastructure Management, Vendor Optimisation Team, AVP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

  • The FIC Technology team delivers and manages the global technology solutions which enable the Investment Bank’s Fixed Income and Currency Business to operate. FIC Technology specialists (Service Owners) manage each Vendor’s services, including performance, reporting, contracts, costs, risk management, governance and associated audit and regulatory obligations.
  • To enable the Service Owners to focus on technology delivery the Vendor Optimisation team act as Service Owner Delegates to lead on the Vendor related risk management, contracts, vendor governance, audit and regulatory activities.  The team currently provides this support across multiple FIC Technology areas, primarily Exchange/Venue Connectivity, Ultra-low Colocations and Connectivity, Market Data Technology, Banking Operations, Post-trade, Software applications, Hosting.
  • This is a high-profile role with wide engagement and visibility across the FIC Tech CIO and their leadership team, the FIC Business and other key teams (2LoD risk teams, Legal, Procurement, Business Management, Divisional Vendor Management Office).

Your key responsibilities

Vendor Risk

  • Manage the execution of Vendor Risk Management (VRM) processes to ensure that the inherent risks from using a 3rd party to deliver critical services to the Bank are identified and managed
  • Engage with the Service owners to understand those key business, technical and operational aspects of the vendor service which are relevant for the VRM process
  • Collaborate with the Service Owners, Vendors, 2nd Line of Defense Risk Controllers, Procurement and Divisional Vendor Management Office teams to resolve issues arising in the VRM process
  • Reporting on the status of VRM transactions to relevant teams, including up to the Board
  • Oversight of vendor selection and onboarding process, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and risk frameworks
  • Manage and own vendor service relationship on a transactional level with focus on a particular Infrastructure product/ services

             

Audit and Regulatory activities

  • Support the DB Audit teams on their audits of the Vendors and the VRMs
  • Execute audit findings within the required deadline
  • Ensure Regulatory reporting (scheduled and ad-hoc) on Vendor services is completed by the required deadline

Vendor Contracts

  • Engage with the Vendor, Legal and Procurement to execute appropriate contracts for new services and to amend existing contracts where required to comply with changing requirements (driven by the Bank, the VRM process or by the Regulators)
  • Ensure contracts contain the correct level of Governance, Controls, service and reporting principles and manage Vendor Risk within the Bank and Infrastructure risk appetites
  • Ensure that the Bank’s contract repository (dbContractsPRO) complete and accurate

Vendor Governance

  • Support the set-up and running of Governance meetings with key Vendors
  • Gathering key performance information from multiple DB stakeholders across Technology and the Business to create meeting presentation documentation
  • Monitor the service relationship via Governance, KPI reporting and tracking
  • Following up on Governance meeting action points with the Vendor and DB stakeholders

Your skills and experience

The role will suit a candidate that is self-starter, with great enthusiasm and drive to develop their skills

  • A strong interest / basic understanding of technology used in Exchange/Market Connectivity, Ultra-Low Latency Colocations or Market Data
  • A strong interest / basic understanding of the FIC Business
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Banking or Consultancy firms
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with workflow tools, working to deadlines and taking ownership of work
  • Experience in vendor management or service delivery management or procurement or business management would be helpful
  • Good Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
  • Experience in effectively communicating with stakeholders and team members
  • Flexible and comfortable in an international environment / matrix organization with diverse senior stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Have a strong appreciation of risks, regulatory requirements and controls generically and particularly in the vendor outsourcing and service delivery environment
