Job Description
Quality Engineer (Mechanical):
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Quality Engineer at Siddhitech Stainless Company in Pune. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that products meet customer specifications and company quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. The role involves inspection of raw materials, in-process and finished products, maintaining quality documentation, resolving quality issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and inspection procedures.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications for inspection and quality verification.
- Perform dimensional inspections using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision tools.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, quality records, test reports, and documentation.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues using root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with production, design, procurement, and suppliers to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Monitor manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections before product dispatch.
- Manage non-conforming products and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and supplier quality evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding inspection, machining, and assembly processes.
- Familiarity with quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, CAPA, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, SPC, and FMEA.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and quality documentation.
- Experience in the stainless steel fabrication industry will be an added advantage.
