Job Title: SVP – Hedge Fund Accounting

Location: Bangalore / Pune – India
Shift: Night Shift
Reports To: Managing Director / Regional Head – Fund Services

About the Role

The SVP – Hedge Fund Accounting is a senior strategic leader responsible for driving operational excellence, client relationship management, and transformation initiatives across the Hedge Fund Accounting function. This role oversees large, multi-location teams and partners closely with global stakeholders to deliver high-quality fund administration services, process automation, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate brings 17+ years of deep expertise in Alternative Investment Fund Administration, strong leadership capabilities, and a track record of scaling operations in a global environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Management

  • Define and drive the Hedge Fund Accounting strategy for India in alignment with global Fund Services leadership.
  • Lead large, multi-tiered teams across multiple locations, ensuring optimal workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational scalability.
  • Oversee migration planning, talent acquisition, hiring quality, and capability development of senior managers and managers.
  • Develop and execute automation and transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance service delivery.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for global clients and internal business units.
  • Strengthen and maintain strategic relationships with clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery and high satisfaction levels.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Securities/Trades, Pricing, Investor Services, Reporting, Compliance, Legal, Technology, and Audit teams.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure 100% SLA adherence with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, and control frameworks.
  • Oversee complex NAV reviews, operational risk controls, and sign-off processes across diverse Hedge Fund strategies.
  • Champion global best practices, standardization, and process harmonization across locations.
  • Support large-scale system conversions, workflow migrations, and adoption of new technologies.

Governance, Audit & Compliance

  • Drive strong governance across teams including audit readiness, regulatory adherence, and internal control improvements.
  • Partner with internal/external auditors and respond to queries, observations, and management action plans.
  • Ensure that all critical fund accounting processes follow global SOPs and high-compliance standards.

People Leadership & Culture

  • Mentor, coach, and develop senior leaders, fostering a high-performing, inclusive, and accountable work culture.
  • Lead annual performance evaluations, career pathing, and leadership development programs.
  • Promote continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration across teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 17+ years of experience in Hedge Fund Administration with strong exposure to NAV calculations, operational controls, and client management.
  • Professional qualifications preferred: CA / CFA / CMA / ACCA / MBA–Finance.
  • Proven experience leading large teams at AVP/VP/SVP levels in a global fund services environment.
  • Strong understanding of hedge fund structures, derivatives, complex instruments, and valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, executive presence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in business transformation, automation, and process reengineering.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak cycles.
