Specialist – Platform Engineering (AWS / Cloud)

Location: Pune COE, India

Reporting to: Senior Manager – Software Development, FLX ONE Cargo

Architectural Alignment: Principal Architect – FLX ONE Cargo

Role Context

As a Specialist – Platform Engineering (AWS / Cloud), you are a senior hands-on engineer responsible for building and evolving the cloud-native platform foundations of FLX ONE Cargo (F1C).

This role focuses on enabling engineering teams through robust platform capabilities, including infrastructure, runtime environments, observability, and deployment patterns.

You will ensure that Cargo services are built on scalable, reusable, and operationally mature platform components aligned with F1C architecture and AWS-native principles.

Platform & Shared Services

● Design and build shared platform services used across Cargo engineering teams.

● Develop common libraries, frameworks, and runtime components.

● Ensure platform components are modular, well-documented, and easy to consume.

Cloud & Infrastructure Foundations

● Design and build AWS-native platform capabilities (EKS, Lambda, networking, IAM, etc.).

● Define and enforce infrastructure-as-code patterns and environment standardisation.

● Improve observability, reliability, and scalability across platform services.

Architecture Execution

● Translate architectural patterns into concrete platform implementations.

● Ensure platform services enforce agreed boundaries, contracts, and standards.

● Identify and resolve cross-cutting technical debt early.

Hands-On Engineering

● Own and evolve critical platform components in production.

● Perform deep code reviews on platform-facing changes.

● Support production debugging and optimisation of shared services.

What You Must Bring

● 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.

● Strong expertise in backend or platform engineering using modern enterprise stacks.

● Deep experience building and operating cloud-native systems on AWS (EKS, Lambda, networking, IAM, etc.).

● Experience building shared services or internal platforms used by multiple teams.

● Strong engineering judgment and system-level thinking.

Nice to Have

● Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK).

● Familiarity with observability tooling and reliability engineering practices.

● Exposure to large-scale SaaS or platform organisations.
