Reporting To: Area Business Manager / Cluster Manager
Job Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for overall store operations, sales performance, team management, customer experience, inventory control, and ensuring adherence to brand and operational standards. The role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen, and customer relationship management skills to drive store profitability and deliver an exceptional luxury retail experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business DevelopmentAchieve monthly and annual sales targets of the store.
- Drive productivity and maximize conversion through effective sales management.
- Monitor KPIs such as ATV, conversion ratio, footfall, and customer retention.
- Plan and execute local store marketing activities to increase walk-ins and business.
- Customer ExperienceEnsure premium customer service standards aligned with Tanishq brand values.
- Handle customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of concerns.
- Build long-term customer relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Team ManagementLead, motivate, and develop store staff to achieve business goals.
- Conduct regular training, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
- Manage employee scheduling, attendance, grooming, and discipline.
- Operations & Inventory ManagementEnsure smooth daily store operations and compliance with SOPs.
- Monitor stock movement, replenishment, and inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with merchandising and logistics teams for stock planning.
- Ensure proper handling of high-value jewellery inventory and security procedures.
- Compliance & AdministrationEnsure adherence to company policies, audit requirements, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain store records, reports, and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams for operational requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team handling skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Sales and target-oriented mindset
- Customer relationship management
- Inventory and retail operations knowledge
- Proficiency in MS Excel and retail reporting
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Qualification:
- Graduate / Postgraduate in any discipline
- MBA or retail management qualification preferred
Experience:
- 5–10 years of experience in retail sales and operations
- Prior experience in jewellery, luxury retail, or lifestyle segment preferred
- Experience in team handling and store management is mandatory
