Food and Beverage Manager

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Food & Beverage Manager with strong barista skills to oversee daily operations, ensure service excellence, and lead our team. The ideal candidate combines operational leadership with hands-on coffee expertise and a genuine interest in vegan cuisine.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Management

• Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth service and high standards
• Manage staff scheduling, training, and performance
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations

Barista & Beverage Excellence

• Prepare high-quality coffee and specialty beverages
• Train staff in espresso techniques, latte art, and brewing methods
• Maintain and troubleshoot coffee equipment
• Develop seasonal and signature drink menus (vegan-friendly)

Customer Experience

• Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve customer concerns
• Build a warm, inclusive café environment
• Maintain presentation standards for food and beverages

Financial Management

• Monitor sales, costs, and profitability
• Control waste and optimize inventory usage
• Assist with budgeting and reporting

• Ensure 100% adherence to standard recipes and SOPs
• Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and temperature

6. Hygiene & Compliance

• Maintain 100% compliance with food safety standards
• Achieve top scores in hygiene audits and inspections
• Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance checklists are completed

7. Innovation & Menu Development

• Introduce - new seasonal beverages/food items per quarter
• Improve menu profitability through data-driven changes
• Incorporate sustainable and locally sourced ingredients where possible

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Food & Beverage Manager or Café Manager
• Strong barista skills (espresso-based drinks, milk alternatives, latte art)
• Knowledge of vegan ingredients and plant-based food trends
• Leadership and team management experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in vegan or specialty cafés
• Certification in food safety or hospitality management
• Passion for sustainability and ethical food practices
