Quality Control Engineer

Job Summary:

The QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of components and finished packaging machines by conducting inspections at various stages of production and ensuring compliance with defined standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect raw materials and bought-out components as per drawings and specifications
• Perform in-process quality checks during fabrication, machining, and assembly
• Conduct final inspection of machines before dispatch
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments (Vernier, micrometer, gauges, etc.)
• Check mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical functions of machines
• Identify defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Maintain inspection reports and quality documentation
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and customer requirements
• Coordinate with production, design, and purchase teams to resolve quality issues
• Handle customer complaints and support root cause analysis
• Participate in internal and external audits (ISO, customer audits)
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of engineering drawings and tolerances
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments
• Basic understanding of pneumatic and mechanical systems
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis)

Qualification:

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in quality control, preferably in packaging machine or machinery manufacturing industry

Preferred:

• Experience in ISO documentation and audits
• Exposure to machine assembly and testing
