Job Description
A picker packer locates, selects, and packages items in a warehouse or fulfillment center. They review digital or printed order sheets, pull correct products from inventory, inspect them for damage, and prepare them securely with shipping labels for fast delivery. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Responsibilities
- Order Picking: Find and gather products using barcode scanners or pick lists.
- Quality Control: Check items for defects or flaws prior to boxing.
- Packing & Labeling: Wrap items, place them into appropriate boxes with protective filling, seal them, and attach shipping labels.
- Inventory Control: Report missing stock, count inventory levels, and restock shelves.
- Warehouse Safety: Keep work areas clean and follow all safety and equipment rules. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
Skills & Qualifications
- Attention to Detail: Ensure the exact item and quantity match the order.
- Physical Stamina: Stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items (often up to 50 lbs) for long shifts.
- Time Management: Meet tight daily shipping deadlines and quotas.
- Basic Tech Skills: Use handheld barcode scanners and basic warehouse computer software.
- Teamwork: Communicate well with other warehouse staff and supervisors. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]
