Senior Manager – Pulpwood Procurement & Supply

We are hiring a Senior Manager – Pulpwood Procurement & Supply for a Pune and Satara based wood supply business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure mill-approved pulpwood such as Subabul, Eucalyptus/Nilgiri, Casuarina/Suru and other approved species.

• Develop a strong network of farmers, wood traders, harvesting contractors and transporters across Pune, Ahmednagar, Solapur and Satara.

• Inspect standing trees, identify species, estimate tonnage and negotiate purchase rates.

• Calculate complete landed cost per MT.

• Manage cutting, billeting, labour, loading, transportation, weighbridge and mill-gate delivery.

• Ensure wood meets paper-mill specifications and minimize rejection, deductions and delays.

• Maintain daily records of procurement, vehicle movement, weight, cost and payments.

• Travel across Maharashtra and to Sirpur–Kagaznagar, Telangana, as required.

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 1 years of practical pulpwood/wood procurement experience.

• Experience with a paper mill or established paper-mill wood supplier is mandatory.

• Must have handled high-volume wood procurement and provide verifiable references.

• Knowledge of standing-tree valuation, harvesting, logistics and mill quality requirements is essential.

• Hindi is mandatory; Marathi preferred; Telugu will be an advantage.

• Candidates with only furniture, plywood or general purchase experience should not apply.
