Product Development Team Lead

Job summary:

We are looking for a skilled Engineering Team Lead responsible for technical leadership, architectural ownership, and people management with a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, React (JSX), and enterprise ERP development to handle end-to-end delivery of the construction ERP platform, team mentorship, sprint management, and hands-on coding and also support engineering excellence, team growth, and business scalability goals.

Responsibilities:

Core responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of frontend and backend developers.
• Own the engineering roadmap and align technical delivery with product milestones.
• Design and architect scalable solutions across ERP modules (Inventory, Billing, Payroll, HR, etc.).
• Remain hands-on: contribute to feature development, critical fixes, and code reviews.
• Establish and enforce coding standards, review processes, and engineering best practices.
• Drive technical decisions on API design, database architecture, and infrastructure.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Manage hiring: define requirements, conduct technical interviews, onboard new hires.
• Conduct 1:1s, provide structured feedback, and support career growth of direct reports.
• Own the CI/CD pipeline, deployment workflows, and production release process.
• Communicate project status, risks, and timelines clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance, security, and scalability bottlenecks.

Additional Responsibilities (if, any):

• Contribute to product strategy discussions, feature prioritisation, and roadmap planning.
• Evaluate and recommend third-party tools, libraries, or integrations as the platform scales.

Required skills: (mandatory)

• Java (8+) and Spring Boot: deep expertise in Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, microservices, and performance tuning.
• React / JavaScript (JSX): strong proficiency in front-end architecture and REST API integration.
• Proven experience designing and delivering multi-module enterprise or ERP applications.
• Relational databases: MySQL / PostgreSQL — schema design, indexing, complex queries.
• CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Containerisation: Docker and working knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Strong leadership and people management: team building, mentorship, and performance management.
• Excellent communication — able to articulate technical decisions to non-technical audiences.

Preferred skill: (Good to have)

• Domain experience in construction, real estate, manufacturing, or similar industries.
• Experience with ERP systems (custom-built or SAP / Oracle).
• Cloud infrastructure knowledge: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with BI or reporting tools (JasperReports, Power BI, Metabase).
• Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS architecture.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or senior-lead role.
• Certification (if any): PMP / Agile / Scrum Master certification is a plus; Java or Spring Professional certification preferred.
