We are a well-established packaging manufacturer based in South Gujarat . Our product range includes:
• Corrugated Boxes — custom sizes for industrial and e-commerce use
• Paper Courier Bags — for logistics and D2C brands
• Paper Core Pipes — for textile, film, and industrial winding applications
• Paper Angle Boards — edge protection for export and heavy goods packaging
We supply to clients across textiles, pharma, FMCG, engineering, e-commerce, and logistics sectors. With a growing factory footprint near Surat and an expanding client base, we are building a stronger sales team to accelerate growth.
Role Summary
The Business Development Manager will be the primary growth driver for new client acquisition and revenue expansion. This is a senior field sales role requiring someone who can independently identify opportunities, build relationships at the decision-maker level, close deals, and manage long-term accounts. The role carries direct revenue responsibility and offers high earning potential through incentives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & New Client Acquisition
• Identify and approach potential clients in target sectors — FMCG, e-commerce, textiles, pharma, engineering, ceramics, agro, and logistics
• Build a qualified lead pipeline through cold calling, referrals, trade visits, and industrial area canvassing
• Conduct client meetings with purchase managers, procurement heads, warehouse managers, and business owners
• Understand client packaging requirements and propose the right product solutions with correct specifications
• Convert leads into first orders and ensure smooth onboarding
Sales Closure & Negotiation
• Prepare and present competitive quotations in coordination with the pricing/management team
• Negotiate on pricing, credit terms, delivery schedules, and volume commitments
• Close long-term supply agreements and rate contracts with mid and large-sized clients
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as set by management
Account Management & Retention
• Maintain regular contact with active clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat orders
• Resolve complaints or service issues by coordinating with production and dispatch
• Identify upselling opportunities — e.g., clients buying corrugated boxes who can also be pitched angle boards or core pipes
• Build strong relationships to prevent client attrition and competitor switching
Market Intelligence & Reporting
• Track competitor pricing, product launches, and client movements in the market
• Report weekly on calls made, meetings held, pipeline status, and orders closed
• Share field insights with management to support product and pricing decisions
• Maintain client data accurately in CRM or shared trackers
Coordination & Execution
• Work closely with the production planning and dispatch teams to ensure committed delivery timelines are met
• Communicate client-specific requirements (sizes, printing, quality standards) clearly to the operations team
• Manage credit follow-ups in coordination with the accounts team for timely payment collection
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Background
• 3–8 years of B2B field sales experience
• Prior experience in packaging, paper products, corrugated industry, industrial consumables, or related manufacturing sales strongly preferred
• Demonstrated record of independently closing new accounts — not just servicing existing ones
• Experience handling mid to large industrial or commercial clients
Skills & Competencies
• Strong prospecting and pipeline building ability
• Confident presenter and negotiator at senior buyer/decision-maker level
• Excellent relationship-building and follow-up discipline
• Ability to read client requirements and translate them into product specs
• Basic understanding of GST invoicing, credit terms, and commercial documentation
• Comfortable with MS Excel, WhatsApp Business, and basic reporting tools
Language & Communication
• Fluent in Gujarati
• Fluent in Hindi
• Working knowledge of English for written communication and reports
Other Requirements
• Own two-wheeler or four-wheeler (mandatory for field visits)
• Willingness to travel across Surat city, Surat district, and nearby industrial areas (Sachin GIDC, Kim, Ankleshwar, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad)
