Sewing Machine Technician – Job DescriptionJob Title: Sewing Machine Technician

Department: Maintenance / Production

Location: Tirupur

Job Summary:

A Sewing Machine Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of sewing machines to ensure smooth production operations in the garment industry.

  • Roles & Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and repair industrial sewing machines.
  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance of sewing machines.
  • Ensure machines are operating efficiently to avoid production delays.
  • Replace faulty machine parts and adjust machine settings.
  • Monitor machine performance and report recurring issues.
  • Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain records of machine servicing and repairs.
  • Ensure workplace safety while handling machinery and tools.
  • Support production teams during urgent machine issues.
  • Skills Required:Knowledge of industrial sewing machines (Single Needle, Overlock, Flatlock, Feed-off-arm, Button Hole, Bar Tack, etc.).
  • Troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Time management and teamwork.
  • Qualification:ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant technical field.
  • Experience in garment industry machine maintenance preferred.
  • Experience:2–5 years of experience as a sewing machine technician in garment manufacturing.
