Job Description

Job Summary


We are looking for a detail-oriented QC Assistant to inspect finished furniture before dispatch. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that every product leaving the factory meets the company's quality standards, approved drawings, and customer specifications. The candidate will perform final quality checks, identify defects, coordinate rectifications, and approve products for packing and dispatch.



Key Responsibilities

Final Product Inspection

  • Conduct 100% inspection of finished furniture before packing and dispatch.
  • Verify that products match approved drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure dimensions, finish, construction, and functionality meet quality standards.


Quality Checks

Inspect each product for:

  • Surface finish quality (paint, polish, veneer, laminate, upholstery, etc.)
  • Scratches, dents, cracks, chips, stains, glue marks, and other visual defects.
  • Correct color, texture, and finish consistency.
  • Proper edge finishing and alignment.
  • Accurate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Stability and structural strength.
  • Proper assembly and fitment of all components.
  • Hardware installation and functionality.
  • Drawer, door, hinge, and runner operation (where applicable).
  • Leveling and wobble-free performance.
  • Cleanliness and overall presentation.


Documentation

  • Complete inspection checklists for each batch or project.
  • Record defects and non-conformities.
  • Maintain daily QC reports and inspection records.
  • Tag rejected products and monitor corrective actions.


Coordination

  • Coordinate with Production, Finishing, Upholstery, and Packing teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Ensure all defects are rectified before dispatch.
  • Re-inspect repaired products prior to approval.


Dispatch Approval

  • Approve only products that meet quality standards.
  • Verify correct product quantity, labeling, and identification before dispatch.
  • Ensure products are packed according to company packing standards to avoid transit damage.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify recurring quality issues and report them to the QC Manager.
  • Suggest improvements to reduce rework and customer complaints.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality procedures and SOPs.


Required Skills

  • Required SkillsStrong attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of furniture construction and finishing.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and product specifications.
  • Proficient in using measuring tape, Vernier caliper, and other inspection tools.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge for maintaining inspection records.


Qualifications

  • QualificationsITI, Diploma, or Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Experience in furniture manufacturing or quality inspection is preferred.


Experience

  • Experience1–3 years of experience in furniture quality inspection.
  • Experience in premium wooden or upholstered furniture will be an advantage.
