Admission Counsellor

Role Description The Educational Counsellor role at WELTEC Institute is a full-time, on-site position based in Vadodara. The Educational Counsellor will guide prospective and current learners in selecting suitable courses and career paths aligned with their interests, skills, and goals. This includes conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, responding to inquiries via phone, email, and in person, and explaining program structures, outcomes, and placement support. The role involves assessing learner profiles, maintaining accurate records of counseling interactions, and following up to support enrollment decisions and learner success. The Educational Counsellor will also collaborate with faculty and the placement team to ensure learners receive relevant academic and career guidance, participate in seminars or information sessions, and contribute to outreach activities.

Qualifications

·      Strong Educational Consulting and Education-related advisory skills, with the ability to explain programs, curriculum, and learning pathways clearly.

·      Proven experience in Student Counseling and Career Counseling, preferably in an academic, training, or edtech environment.

·      Excellent Communication skills, including active listening, clear verbal and written communication, and a professional, empathetic counseling style.

·      Ability to build trust with diverse learners, manage multiple inquiries, and maintain organized records using basic office and CRM tools.

·      Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Management, or a related field; a counseling certification or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

·      Familiarity with IT and tech career paths or willingness to quickly learn these domains.

·      Strong problem-solving and guidance skills, with a learner-centric mindset and commitment to ethical, unbiased counseling practices.

·      Comfort working in a growth-driven environment, contributing to enrollment and retention goals while prioritizing learner needs and long-term fit.
