Job Description

Job Purpose: As a Scrum Master for one or more Data Science squads in NIQ, you will enable high‑performing, cross‑functional teams that deliver analytics, ML/AI, and data‑product outcomes. This position focuses on fostering disciplined Agile practices tailored for experimental, research‑driven environments, ensuring teams remain aligned, collaborative, and continuously improving in pursuit of innovative data‑science solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coach and develop Data Science team members by guiding them in applying Scrum principles tailored to experimental, exploratory, and non‑linear research workflows.
  • Facilitate all Scrum events—including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective—ensuring adherence to Scrum theory, agreed processes, and predictable capacity‑based planning.
  • Assess team strengths and improvement areas, using targeted coaching techniques to elevate team maturity, collaboration, and delivery performance.
  • Proactively identify, address, and remove impediments, partnering with Scrum Masters, Agile Coaches, and leadership to improve organizational delivery flow.
  • Monitor sprint and release commitments against actual delivery, ensuring progress is visible and the team remains accountable to agreed goals.
  • Use delivery metrics such as cycle time, throughput, and predictability to drive continuous improvement, inform retrospectives, and maintain transparency with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Technology, and Operations partners on roadmaps, timelines, and dependencies, ensuring proactive coordination with adjacent teams.
  • Escalate risks and issues promptly with clear context and recommended actions to enable timely decision‑making.
