Role Overview

The City Growth Manager will own the charter of growing Paytm’s consumer market share within their focus cities. The mandate is to decode local market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive activity to identify untapped growth opportunities, and convert these insights into targeted plans that increase transacting users, usage frequency, and wallet share for Paytm.

Key Responsibilities

• Track city-level market share, category penetration, and competitive intensity in UPI and other products to identify Paytm’s growth white spaces.
• Leverage internal and 3P data, cohort trends, and on-ground market intelligence to size growth opportunities and prioritise the highest-impact levers for the city.
• Design and execute city-specific growth plans. Targeted campaigns, offers, and hyperlocal activations to grow transacting users and spend share.
• Identify and evaluate hyperlocal growth levers, including local partnerships, community-led activations, local influencers and city-specific promotions.
• Run structured pilots and experiments to validate new growth levers before scaling them city-wide or replicating them across other focus cities.
• Personalise the lifecycle communication, nudges, and offers to local preferences
• Partner with product, marketing, operations team to convert city-level insights into action plans, product asks, and campaign briefs.
• Own city-level growth dashboards and MIS, tracking change in KPIs incl. market share, transacting users, transaction/ revenue per user, user retention.
• Conduct regular business reviews with leadership, highlighting progress against the growth plan, key metrics, and outcomes from growth pilots/ experiments.

What We’re Looking For

• MBA with 4+ years or Graduate with 6+ years of experience in Growth, Business Strategy, or Consulting roles
• Prior experience in B2C consumer internet, fintech, payments, or e-commerce preferred.
• Strong analytical ability and experience with market sizing, funnel and cohort analysis. SQL/ Excel proficiency preferred.
• High ownership mindset, bias for action, and an experimental approach.
• Strong stakeholder management skills to work with cross-functional teams and partners.
