Job Description – Store cum Purchase Executive / Store cum Purchase Incharge


Industry: Machinery Manufacturing (Mixer Machines)


Reports To: Plant Head / Operations Head

Job SummaryThe Store cum Purchase Executive is responsible for managing all store operations and procurement activities to ensure the uninterrupted availability of raw materials, bought-out items, consumables, and other production requirements. The role involves inventory management, vendor coordination, purchase order processing, stock control, and timely material availability for production while maintaining cost efficiency and accurate documentation.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesStore ManagementManage receipt, inspection, storage, and issue of raw materials, bought-out items, consumables, and finished goods.
  • Maintain inventory of MS/SS materials, motors, gearboxes, bearings, fasteners, electrical items, and other industrial components.
  • Issue materials as per Production Indent, BOM, and approved requisitions.
  • Ensure proper storage, identification, labeling, and FIFO/FEFO practices.
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain minimum and reorder stock.
  • Conduct monthly physical stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate stock records in ERP, Tally, or Excel.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping, safety, and compliance within the store.
  • Purchase ManagementGenerate purchase requisitions and Purchase Orders (PO).
  • Identify and develop reliable suppliers for engineering materials and consumables.
  • Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate rates, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Accounts departments regarding procurement requirements.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and maintain supplier records.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Documentation & CoordinationPrepare and maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note), purchase records, inward/outward registers, and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate dispatch activities, transporters, invoices, and e-way bills.
  • Ensure proper documentation for audits and ISO compliance.
  • Prepare periodic MIS reports related to inventory, purchases, stock movement, and pending orders.
  • RequirementsGraduate or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or any relevant discipline.
  • 3–6 years of experience in Store and Purchase functions in an Engineering or Machinery Manufacturing company.
  • Good knowledge of industrial materials, inventory control, and procurement processes.
  • Experience with ERP/Tally and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of BOM, GRN, Purchase Orders, stock reconciliation, and vendor management.
  • Understanding of GST documentation and e-way bill procedures will be an added advantage.
