About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Jigs & Fixtures, and industrial automation. The ideal candidate bridges mechanical and electrical/electronics domains to design, build, and commission reliable tooling solutions for our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) as per customer and production requirements
• Prepare CAD drawings, assembly layouts, and BOMs (AutoCAD / SolidWorks / CATIA)
• Design welding, assembly, inspection, and machining jigs & fixtures
• Optimize fixture designs for cycle time reduction, accuracy, and repeatability
• Conduct GD&T and tolerance analysis for critical components
• Design and implement PLC-based control panels and automation circuits
• Program PLCs and HMI interfaces (Siemens / Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi / Delta)
• Integrate sensors, actuators, pneumatic and hydraulic systems with electrical controls
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in SPMs and automated tooling
• Prepare electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
• Maintain engineering documentation — drawings, BOMs, test reports, and change records
• Support ISO 9001:2015 audits with relevant technical records
• Coordinate with customers for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and site commissioning
• Liaise with vendors for components, pneumatic/hydraulic parts, and electronics

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in SPM / Jig & Fixture / Automation domain
• Experience in automotive, general engineering, or manufacturing industry preferred
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 QMS is an advantage
