Team Leader - Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Team Leader – Last Mile Operations will be responsible for managing all ground-level activities during their assigned shift. TL is the first point of contact for the delivery team on the floor, ensuring every order goes out on time, every rider is deployed efficiently, and every issue is resolved without escalation wherever possible. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Shift Management & Floor Operations 

• Take full ownership of hub operations during the assigned shift (morning / afternoon / night)

• Ensure all orders are picked, sorted, and dispatched within defined TAT from shift start

• Monitor real-time order queues and proactively manage peak-hour surges or backlogs

• Deploy delivery executives on routes basis order volume, geography, and vehicle capacity

• Track rider attendance at shift start and adjust deployment plans accordingly

• Monitor live rider status - active, idle, delayed, or unreachable - and take corrective action

• Flag orders at risk of SLA breach to the Store Manager in a timely manner

• Maintain shift-level MIS: deliveries attempted, completed, failed, and returned

• Log rider performance, attendance, and any incidents in the shift report 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Background

• 1–3 years of experience in last mile logistics, delivery operations, or hub/warehouse floor management

• Prior experience as a TL, fleet supervisor, or operations associate

• Familiarity with quick commerce, hyperlocal delivery, or e-commerce operations 

• Strong floor-level leadership with the ability to manage and motivate a team of 10–20 people

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make quick decisions during high-pressure situations

• Basic understanding of delivery SLAs, TAT, and last mile KPIs
