Finance Manager

WHAT IS THE ROLE 

As the Finance Manager, you will work at the heart of craftAI's business operations owning budgeting, accounting oversight, and financial reporting while acting as the bridge between the founders and our CA & accounts team. This is a high-ownership generalist role spanning everything from MIS reporting and compliance coordination to fundraise support and cross-functional projects.

We're looking for someone who has worked in a fast-paced startup environment before, ideally in a business finance, accounting, or FP&A role at an early or growth-stage company and is comfortable wearing multiple hats while driving things to closure independently.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Manage company accounts, bookkeeping oversight, reconciliations, invoicing, payroll coordination, and day-to-day financial operations
  • Coordinate with our CA & accounts team, auditors, payroll partners, legal teams, and external consultants
  • Coordinate statutory filings, compliance tracking, ROC/MCA documentation, and board documentation support
  • Manage budgeting, FP&A, MIS (Management Information System) reporting, cash flow visibility, and financial tracking
  • Support ESOP documentation, vendor agreements, contracts, and operational documentation
  • Maintain compliance awareness across business operations and proactively flag risks or gaps
  • Research and implement best practices across finance, compliance, and operational systems


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 


  • 2 - 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business operations ideally at an early or growth-stage startup
  • B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA or equivalent qualification
  • Hands-on experience with accounting workflows, compliance coordination, MIS reporting, and budgeting
  • Experience coordinating with CA firms, auditors, payroll partners, or external consultants
  • Strong command of Excel/Google Sheets and comfort working with tools like Zoho, Tally, or QuickBooks
  • Ability to turn messy data into clear, decision-ready reporting for founders and leadership
  • High ownership and accountability, able to chase things to closure without follow-ups
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, context-switching, and wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication for working across founders, vendors, and external partners
  • Curiosity for AI tools and automation prior experience using them in finance workflows is a strong plus
