Job Summary
The Swimming Pool & Water Treatment Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of swimming pools, fountains, water features, water softeners, RO plants, filtration systems, and related MEP equipment. The technician must ensure safe operation, excellent water quality, and customer satisfaction through timely service visits and proper documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Swimming Pool Maintenance·
- Perform routine cleaning of swimming pools, balancing tanks, skimmers, strainers, and overflow channels.
- Test and maintain water parameters including pH, free chlorine, alkalinity, hardness, TDS, and cyanuric acid.
- Dose pool chemicals such as chlorine, acid, soda ash, algaecide, flocculant, and clarifier as required.
- Backwash, rinse, and maintain sand filters and cartridge filters.
- Inspect circulation pumps, dosing systems, UV systems, and heat pumps for proper operation.
Water Treatment Systems
- Operate and maintain water softeners, RO plants, multimedia filters, activated carbon filters, and dosing systems.
- Carry out resin regeneration, media replacement, membrane flushing, and routine servicing.
- Monitor inlet and outlet water quality parameters and maintain system efficiency.
- Troubleshoot issues related to flow, pressure, TDS, hardness, and equipment performance.
Installation & Repair
- Install pumps, filters, pipelines, valves, underwater lights, control panels, and accessories.
- Repair leakages, replace faulty valves, fittings, gauges, and electrical components.
- Assist in commissioning new swimming pool and water treatment systems.
Inspection & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, and mechanical faults.
- Identify abnormal noises, vibration, leakage, pressure loss, and equipment failures.
- Recommend corrective actions and preventive maintenance measures.
Documentation
- Prepare service reports, inspection checklists, and maintenance records.
- Record chemical consumption, equipment condition, and spare parts used.
- Report major issues to the Service Manager.
Customer Service
- Explain maintenance findings and recommendations to clients.
- Maintain professional behavior during site visits.
- Ensure customer complaints are addressed promptly.
Safety
- Follow company safety procedures while handling chemicals and electrical equipment.
- Use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of swimming pool filtration and circulation systems.
- Understanding of pool water chemistry and chemical dosing.
- Familiarity with RO plants, water softeners, filtration systems, and dosing pumps.
- Basic plumbing and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read P&ID drawings and equipment layouts.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and at customer sites.
Qualification
- ITI (Electrician/Fitter/Plumber) or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Certification in swimming pool operation or water treatment is an added advantage.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in swimming pool maintenance, water treatment plants, RO systems, fountains, or MEP services.
