Job Purpose:
The Team Member - Direct Tax (M&A) is responsible for supporting M&A transactions by conducting tax due diligence, preparing documentation, and assessing risks. This role works closely with senior team members and stakeholders to ensure compliance, provide research insights, and assist in executing tax strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
1. Transaction Support
Assist in reviewing tax implications for mergers and acquisitions.
Prepare documentation related to tax valuations, agreements, and compliance requirements.
Conduct initial assessments of tax risks in transaction-related documents.
2. Due Diligence and Analysis
Support the due diligence process by gathering and analyzing relevant tax data.
Collaborate with consultants to ensure compliance with direct tax regulations.
Prepare summaries and reports for internal review and stakeholder communication.
3. Litigation and Documentation
Assist in preparing responses to tax authorities and legal inquiries related to M&A activities.
Maintain accurate records of disputes, valuations, and tax-related decisions.
Provide background research and analysis to support legal proceedings.
4. Knowledge and Collaboration
Attend training sessions to develop expertise in direct tax regulations for M&A transactions.
Collaborate with senior team members to enhance knowledge and skills.
Support the implementation of best practices for managing M&A tax implications.
5. Reporting and Compliance
Prepare compliance reports and assist in filing returns related to M&A activities.
Ensure accurate record-keeping of transaction-related tax compliance data.
Collaborate with the compliance team to address audit and regulatory challenges.

Education Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance
Chartered Accountant
Work Experience (Range of years):
2-7 years in Big Four Firms or Large Corporate Tax Department, Core M&A Taxation preferred
